The answer to your question is remarkably simple. Steve Fisher looked the other way while Perry Watson and others brought together a very talented and very savvy group of players from Detroit and around the nation. While Steve and Perry were purposely looking to the right, the players were handed money from booster Ed Martin on the left. Ten years later, Chris Weber is a convicted felon and the NCAA finds Michigan guilty. The result was a ban from post-season play and the loss of many many scholarships for many years. Did you not catch this? Were you not alive from 1992 to 1998? It happened under all of our noses and the ramifications were more severe than anyone ever imagined. I personally think the NCAA is a hypocritical bunch that exploits young athletes for dollars, but that's my opinion -- bottom line is Michigan should have known and policed the rules better. There, it's all out now for you and perhaps the one other guy in Big Ten country that didn't know that story -- now let's move on! Your blog's theme is a good one -- they're back! well, for at least one game.redhog1https://www.blogger.com/profile/02523002552458977581noreply@blogger.com
